Dodson is a Reward School two years in a row!

Reward Schools are in the state’s top 5% for either performance (overall academic achievement), progress (student growth), or both. We are so excited to celebrate this HUGE accomplishment with our students, families, faculty and staff!

Dodson Elementary focuses on combining academic and social-emotional learning throughout the day. Research shows this approach increases reading and math test scores as well as improves social skills.

Throughout our day, teachers use collaborative, blended, one-on-one and small-group teaching strategies. We offer Encore for gifted learners, and all of our students spend 60 minutes every day with related arts, such as music, art, PE and technology. Students also have a block of personal learning time (PLT) for 45 minutes each day to help ensure that they are progressing toward their personal learning goals.

Our hallways are filled with artwork, student work and wonderful motivation representing each diverse "bulldog." At least once a week, students who have met a personal learning goal are allowed to write their names on Dodson's Bulldog Wall of Fame, to share their "Bulldog Pride."

Our library and media center is a center of activity for browsing, learning and visually stimulating the brain. Filled with a great collection of fiction and nonfiction books, our media center also has online resources available, which can be accessed at home or anywhere a web connection is available.
